“Dying is a wild night and a new road.”

― Emily Dickinson

work with me

I am here to walk alongside you, holding a brave space, helping you bid goodbye to your former self, finding your true north as you say hello to the new.

Justine works with mothers and daughters to provide support as they move into the teen years.  She helps them understand, and work with, the inner intelligence of their menstrual cycle to support and organize their lives.

For mothers, Justine offers the skills required to educate and engage their girls, to answer their questions and envelop them into the world of women with joy, reverence and respect. Justine aims to set the foundations for both, to better navigate the often bewildering journey of adolescence into maturity.

Becoming

During the midlife emergence, Justine delves deep, allowing a safe space to invite and welcome confidences. Traversing the threshold into the second half of our lives can be an extraordinary, and often missed opportunity to reinvent ourselves.

Justine believes death can be approached by the literal or figurative. The latter refers to the many small deaths we can encounter before our end of life. These are the transitions (divorce, shift of professional identity, sickness), or missed opportunities and disappointments; the situations where our life has not bought to fruition what our hearts hoped it would. They are considered crossroads and choice points.

Our small deaths can compound and lead to a sense of ’stuckness’. Justine’s approach is to address the physical, mental, emotional, spiritual and environmental facets of a client’s life, so they can live life, fully, with authenticity, until the rightful end.

Midlife emergence

Justine is a death positive innovator who has a decade of experience in end-of-life education and care.  Her core values are to honor and advocate for options and choice for all at end-of-life. She works with her clients to reflect on why we’re here, prepare for a time when we won’t be, and to live fully to the end. Justine believes in empowering people to embrace personal choice and authenticity at their end-of-life.

In her role as a death doula, Justine provides support, empowerment and logistical planning for the dying and their caregivers/loved ones, which involves navigating the emotional, practical, legal, and spiritual issues, while contemplating the inevitable nearing end of Life.

“We never really know what’s next but I will be with you for it.”

Offerings

Justine co-hosts a monthly grief circle. The Grief Circle is a safe space where you and your grief are welcomed and honoured. In community, we gather to hold in reverence all that seeks to be witnessed. Founded on the profound principles of Francis Weller, the Grief Circle lays the groundwork for deep self-discovery through shared empathic listening to enable the uncovering and healing of our unresolved grief.
